Dear Sun Valley Community,
It's been a few weeks since we've been in touch, but please know we have been making great progress towards opening the pool. We have been diligently reviewing the newly announced state and CDC guidelines for outdoor pools and making plans that will allow members to safely enjoy time at our pool in a socially distanced manner. We have also been busy procuring necessary supplies and working with the town of Lexington to obtain the required permit from the Board of Health.
At this time we anticipate opening the pool in time for the July 4th weekend. Our detailed plan and rules for safe enjoyment of the pool are being finalized now and we look forward to sharing them with you next week. We can't wait to welcome you over the holiday weekend, but please keep in mind it will not be the usual fourth of July fan-fare that has been a tradition for so many years. We'll have to save our eggs for breakfast this year, rather than tossing them across the basketball courts. Speaking of the "new normal", here is glimpse into our pool opening plan. Just like our tennis courts, advance reservations for pool time will be required. To start, only eight households will be allowed to use the pool at a time and each household will have exclusive use of a marked area of the pool to ensure proper distance can be maintained between households. Seating areas with ample distance will also be assigned to each household, and chairs will be sanitized between use. Masks will required for all persons over age 2 when on Sun Valley grounds, except when swimming, playing tennis, or eating/drinking. Recognizing each family will have various levels of comfort regarding participation this summer, we will continue to accept requests to place memberships on hold as we approach our pool opening date. If your participation status has changed you may let us know via this form anytime over the next few weeks. Credits/Refunds for those who have already opted out will be processed starting next week. So that we can focus on the essential tasks necessary to open the pool, pro-rated membership adjustments will be processed after our pool opening. Thank you for your patience. Remember, a COVID-19 waiver must be submitted by each household. Please use the button below to submit your waiver if you have not done so yet. We also included a NY Times article below that you may find helpful. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these tricky and unprecedented circumstances. Please know that safety is driving all of our decisions. We will be back in touch with more information next week. Please stay safe and healthy and best wishes as you wrap up the school year (from home).
